"The Career Exploration Internship Program helped me decide exactly what I want to do with my life. I started my internship set on teaching eighth grade, and I came out really loving fifth grade. It was a great experience that I'm extremely grateful for."
I've wanted to be a teacher since I was a child and have always had an interest in English. I enjoy interacting with others, providing leadership and direction, and positively impacting others. I am very passionate about the work I do and believe passionate teachers are the ones who truly make a difference. Kaitlyn Bolwell

Mrs. Schwerd, 5th Grade Teacher
"It was great to allow an eager student into my classroom to observe the day-to-day routine in a middle school Language Arts classroom. I am hoping it gives a perspective into different teaching styles and approaches and will direct her on the educational journey she would like to take!"

I most enjoyed...
feeling like a teacher. The students would come to me with questions and were always excited to work with me in groups. They had a certain level of respect for me and treated me like I was actually part of the school staff. I also loved seeing students grasp a new concept; it was such a rewarding experience.
I especially learned...
how strenuous it really is to be a teacher. I've always known it was hard work but never knew the extent of it. Also, by observing different teachers, I discovered the teaching style I'd like to adopt in my own classroom.
I will always remember...
how happy the students were to see me. When I would wait outside the classroom, the 5th graders would come up from lunch and run over and greet me excitedly.
